After more than a decade as Hinge Architects, it’s time for change.

Hinge Architects was established more than a decade ago. At the time, we imagined our service as the ‘hinge’ in the design process - an elegant device that allows movement, change and flexibility.

Since then we've grown, changed and evolved - and if you're reading this then there's a good chance you've been part of that journey.

We've built a wealth of experience across multiple sectors including social and market housing, education, child and aged care, and recently sports. We've listened to, and learned from, you - our clients and consultants. All in all it felt like the right time to re-imagine ourselves for the next part of our journey.

Our new identity will better reflect both the philosophy of our work and the collaborative and hierarchically-neutral nature of how we undertake it. It will better expose our method, process and approach, including our vision around design complexity, sustainability, placemaking, and social impact.

Hinge Architects Pty Ltd has changed its business name to Carter Studio Pty Ltd. All other details remain the same.

Over the coming few months we will gradually roll over our brand and identity, and during this time there may be some intermittent inconsistencies in presentation. We ask for your patience during this time.

Our email addresses have changed from firstname.lastname@hingearchitects.com.au to firstname@carter.studio. Please update your rolodex!

For now, emails to both addresses will reach us, but this will change in time.
